These are the simple values with which FREJA’s founder, Jørgen J. Hansen, founded his transport company in 1985. And these are the same values that have ensured a positive, healthy development for the company since its modest beginnings.
Dynamic and progressive thinking
FREJA’s history has been characterised by far-reaching decisions and progressive thinking. It is a picture of a dynamic, internationally oriented company with an unwavering appreciation of customer needs.
Things began to move in 1990. The company in Skive acquired a subsidiary in Copenhagen and further strategic acquisitions within the sector in 1996 gave FREJA access to new markets. In 1997 FREJA A/S became FREJA Transport & Logistics A/S. The name change signalled a future-oriented profile with a focus on total logistics solutions. The company has since distinguished itself as a professional and credible player on the domestic and international market.
From Danish to Nordic transport company
The first Nordic take-over was Maa ja Meri Oy in Finland in 2003. Since then FREJA has established itself in Sweden and Norway through acquisitions and own-establishment. Today the FREJA group with head-office in Skive and branches in Taastrup (Copenhagen), Aarhus, and Vejle in Denmark; Helsinki and Turku in Finland, Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger in Norway; as well as Stockholm and Helsingborg in Sweden may consider itself a real Nordic player.
Since 1985 FREJA has experienced explosive growth with an average annual growth rate of around 20% - a successful and controlled growth rate which resulted in the award of the GAZELLE prize - for the first time out of three - in 1999; and latest the award as “Entrepreneur of the year” in the category “service” in Denmark 2007.
A professional and flexible logistics partner on the international market
Comprehensive global transport alliances, storage facilities, our own bonded warehouses, order booking, packing and packaging jobs and end-recipient deliveries mean that FREJA is now an attractive alliance partner for all areas of business. Major IT investments have helped promote the flexibility and the overview expected by transport customers of the future.
The original values
Quality, honesty, liability as well as flexibility have been key words and guide lines for the company and the employees since the very beginning. Well aware of the difficulties holding on to those values while the company keeps on growing so fast, FREJA established it’s own school and trainee program in 2005 called “FREJA leadership academy”.
Together with a significant education in everything related to leadership and transport + logistics, the academy ensures that the original values, will keep the company in a good shape to meet the coming challenges.
