Import- & export clearance
TVINN custom clearance is a well-integrated system that gives us the possibility to clear goods before it arrives in Norway.
Freja were on board right from the start in the implementation of IT-technology and communication with the custom authorities for the import and export of goods. Freja also have authorisation to issue our own transit documents.
Freja expedites around 70.000 custom clearances via EDI every year. Freja were also the first freight forwarder to use EDI for clearances.
Insurance
Today's modern transport is a complex chain where there is a risk of loss, damage and delay, in spite that an increasing quality improvement takes place.
In international transport the rules set forth in the CMR-convention applies, wich is enchadded in the Norwegian Act on Roadtransport. In the Nordic countries shipping agreements between the transporter and employer defined in Nordisk Speditørfobunds General terms, the so-called NSAB-2000 also applies.
These rules and regulations gowers the responsibilities between the parties and you should be aware of the limited financial responsibilities for scandinavian carriers.
The maximum is 8,33 SDR pr.kilo in international transport which corresponds to approximately NOK 83,-.
On domestic transport the maximum is 17 SDR pr.kilo, or approximately NOK 170,-.
The best way to protect yourselves against losses exceeding the above value limitations are having an insurance that covers value, freight and 10% imaginary profit.
